With a passion for creating a safer future, the three directors of Fire Consultancy Specialists bring together their unique skill sets across Fire Safety, Engineering, Materials and Business.
FCS was born out of a realisation that the fire safety and engineering world would be forever changed by the Hackitt Report. We are committed to bring leading edge practices, employing the latest knowledge and systems into everything that we do.
Meet The Team
Joe Allen – Technical Director
Joe is the Technical Director at FCS and has over 18 years’ experience working in the construction industry where he has been involved with testing, designing, and installing of all systems that are integral to the compartmentation of a building. Joe‘s specific expertise is proven in Drylining and internal partitioning, Fire stopping, Door inspections and surveys, Fire/smoke dampers, External cladding and cavity barriers.
In the last 18 months Joe has been the technical manager of the scrutineering teams on over 20 new build projects. In a previous role, Joe was responsible for the training and measuring of competence amongst installers within the industry and due to his experience and knowledge, he was selected to be part of the first pilot scheme by Considerate Construction. Joe has been awarded Member status of the Institute of Fire Safety Managers.
Jon Holt – Director of Operations
Jon is a disciplined and consummate Health & Safety and Fire Safety professional, previously boasting a 25-year career with the British Army. Jon has extensive experience working to draft and implement new policies in order to improve health and safety and Fire Safety Management practices in several different positions.
Jon specialises in providing Fire Risk Assessments and consultancy with respect to complex buildings and is listed on the Nationally Accredited Fire Risk Assessor Register, being awarded Tier 3 registration, the highest award available. Jon has provided extensive consultancy for a number of Tier 1 contractors to ensure that compliance is provided in line with Approved document B, BS 9999 or BS 9991. In 2020 Jon was awarded Member status of the Institute of the Fire Safety Managers (IFSM).
